Professional Experience
Prior to launching my own coaching and consulting firm in 2004, I spent 25 years in marketing, business development, and general management—with Teledyne, ILC Technology, and Allergan. I was Vice President and Creative Director of Roberts Mealer, a leading Southern California brand development firm and General Manager of Scientific Spectrum, a supplier of laser and electro-optic systems in North America. My corporate clients over the years number in the hundreds and include more than 30 global 500 brands.

- BA from California State University Long Beach in social sciences and humanities
- Professional Certified Coach (PCC) by the International Coaching Federation (ICF)
- Certified in Evidence-Based Coaching by Fielding Graduate University
- Certified in leadership training by Colorado Outward Bound School and Leadership Effectiveness Training (L.E.T.)
- Extensive training in interpersonal and group consulting from Pacific Gestalt Institute
- Certified in fitness instruction and athletic performance coaching by the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and the America College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)
Personal Philosophy
On a personal note, I have been a daily practitioner of Zen meditation for decades and have taught moving, standing, and seated meditation to hundreds of people at meditation centers, yoga schools, and in other organizational settings. I have found that helping individuals and groups become more aware, calm, and focused provides a rock-solid foundation for not only higher effectiveness, but also for greater authenticity and engagement. Astounding changes take place in people when they begin to trust and operate from their Higher Natures, which do not reside in some rarefied sphere, but are always at hand.
X-Factors
Two other qualities distinguish me from many coaches: 1) decades of experience in somatic modalities such as meditation, yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi Chuan, Qigong, karate and Tae Kwon Do, which helps me to create integrative performance programs for clients that are equally fun, interesting, and effective; and, 2) 20+ years as a management and organizational consultant focused on leadership, executive coaching, business development, teambuilding, and organizational strategy—from which I gained innumerable insights into individual, team, and organizational performance from some of the world’s leading organizations in government and the nonprofit and for-profit sectors.
